Blog Post #12

My peers gave me a lot of corrections that I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise, I find that oftentimes things make complete sense to me when I’m typing my essay and even after when I am rereading but the peer review helps greatly because it’s a new pair of eyes looking at my paper. Marie pointed out that my introduction was a little long but in my head I felt that it needed to be that long in order to get my point across when in reality I was combining two different paragraphs into one. She also pointed out that I had stated my thesis without actually having a thesis sentence. I had turned the majority of my first paragraph into a whole thesis without stating what my actual point that I was arguing. This helped me to create a strong thesis sentence. My peers also pointed out the point that I had stated points in my intro and conclusion that I never actually talked about in my paper which allowed me to go back and create new paragraphs with these ideas in order to strengthen my argument. I think my biggest challenge will be going back through and rewording my sentences that might not make sense. This is my biggest challenge because in my head the sentences make sense therefore it is difficult for me to reword them in a different way and feel that I got the same idea across.
