Learning Outcome Four:

Peer review can be helpful to both the person reviewing the paper and the person who is getting their paper reviewed. When I am reviewing a peer’s work I focus first on global corrections, the major parts of the essay. This includes the ideas, the placement of the ideas and anything major that has to with the development of the paper. Then I focus on the local revisions, things like commas, spelling, or grammatical errors. When I make comments I make sure to highlight the part in which I am commenting on. I then explain what I might see what is wrong with it, I always make sure to give a suggestion on how to enhance or change.

Example of a comment given to a peer.

I think it is also important to make positive comments, when something stands out to me as strickling good I will make a comment on that. It is always nice to have positive reinforcement as well as constructive criticism.
