I’ve realized over the last four weeks of watching the Ben and Jerrys social media that they are not afraid to comment on the social climate that we are experiencing right now. Today they posted a reminder that registration to vote is closing soon in most states, with this post they provided a link to check your registration status along with how to register if your are not registered already. They posted this the day after the first presidential debate, I find the timing interesting.

This week they also posted on their facebook that one of their flavors “boots on the moooo’n” is about to be retired, this creates a desire for people to go out and buy the flavor even if they might not have planned on it because they know its the last time they may be able to find a flavor they may enjoy. They also provided a link with their post on where you can find the flavor. I think this is a good marking strategy used by the company.

Lastly this week the company posted a collaboration with Oktoberfest, because of the ongoing pandemic Oktoberfest has been cancelled but the two companies collaborated to create a list of pairing of ice cream and beer that go well together, this again creates a desire for people to go buy products from both companies that they may not have bought prior to reading this post because they want to try the pairings.
