Blog Proj #6

This week I noticed that Ben and Jerrys has been more active on their social media that targets younger audiences such as Tik Tok, they posted two new videos this week about up cycling empty pints and turning them into different things you can use around the house like a little bird feeder. I think this is interesting in a couple different ways. My generation and the generations primarily on tik tok value recycling and trying to work towards less waste in order to save the planet. This video targets the demographic that wants to take waste and turn it into reusable products. I feel like this sort of interaction with Ben and Jerrys makes people more open to buying their product because it creates a sense that the company cares about more than just their product. This Monday way also Christopher Columbus Day which for the last few years people have been trying to get switched to Indigenous Peoples Day because of the horrible things that Columbus did to the native population. Ben and Jerrys on this day posted about the barrier that indigenous people still to this day face, primarily they talked about the barrier between them and voting. I think this is something important to educate people about because these are struggles that are often times not highlights in the daily news but is something major that people still struggle with.
