This week Ben and Jerrys has been ramping up with their interaction on instagram, they typically only post 1-2 times a week but this week they posted upwards of 6 times. This week one of the first things they posted was a picture sent in from a consumer of a pint with a view on top of a mountain behind it, by them reposting this picture it increases user interaction with their product and their social media accounts. If a consumer sees their picture reposted on the website they may repost it or tell their friends and then others will have the desire to have their pictures reposted by Ben and Jerrys which overall will increase the interaction with their products and their social media accounts.

This week Ben and Jerrys also posted a contest on their account which is the first time I’ve seen this type of post come from them. Ben and Jerrys teamed up with Nike and are hosting a contest to win some Nike merch with the Ben and Jerrys theme as well as a year supply of Ben and Jerrys. By them hosting this competition it also increases their interaction with consumers, it not only prompts people to buy more ben and jerrys but nike as well. The way that you enter this contest is you enter your name, address and such but you also have to pledge to vote. This goes along with how Ben and Jerrys has been posting a lot of content focused around the importance of exercising your right to vote. I think its really important that such a big brand like Ben and Jerrys posts this kind of content so that people can become educated on how lucky we are to have a chance to vote and how that right is not something we should take for granted and we should exercise it.
