As we near election day Ben and Jerrys have continued to post more and more about the election in order to educate people on the importance of voting, how to vote and also the current issue we are facing as a nation. They have also been posting more light hearted things as well including things in anticipation for Halloween. They posted an interactive quiz on their instagram called “tell us about your trick-or-treating style and well tell you which flavor matches your personality” I think this is a fun way to engage consumers and connect Ben and Jerrys which is an ice cream company that isn’t typically connected to halloween.

The official Ben and Jerrys instagram started a new instagram called Ben and Jerrys dogs, this is where people can submit picture of their dogs interacting in some way with Ben and Jerrys and the account will repost the pictures. This is just another way for the company to connect with their consumers.

Lastly this week I began to notice the company’s interact with consumers on posts. I have noticed that Ben and Jerrys will typically not interact with comments on their political post and this may be to keep things professional on their page and to not feed into hate. I have noticed that Ben and Jerrys will comment back to people asking questions about flavors or a simple interaction like replying to a comment in which a consumer complemented their product. This simple interaction can strengthen a consumers desire to purchase the company’s product because it makes the company feel less of a money grab and more of personable company that cares about their consumers.
