Learning Outcome Five:

MLA citation is crucial the writing process in order to properly give credit the the authors which it is due. Through MLA citations the writer gives the reader where they found their information, the author when it was published, etc. In the writing when you quote a journal or an article you can then afterwards put the author’s name in parentheses, this way the reader can look at the quotes, follow the author down to the work cited page and then find any information that they may need. Typically with citations I struggle to organize all of the information correctly. There are many rules when creating an MLA citation that can lead to small mistakes, this is usually where I struggle. Through this class I have improved significantly on my citation skills but there is always room for improvement, because it is very important to correctly cite sources or you could potentially be plagiarizing without even realizing it.
